Juventudes Potentes, a project that promotes the productive inclusion of young people in the city of São Paulo, renews its partnership with Mapfry
With the new collaboration for 2024, the movement will use the largest Geomarketing platform to identify areas with a high concentration of young people that can benefit from its productive inclusion programs.
Founded in 2020, Juventudes Potentes works in partnership with more than 80 institutions to empower them to develop socially vulnerable young people.
Because it is present in other countries, such as Colombia, South Africa and India, the initiative uses data science to identify areas where it can make a difference, and the partnership with Mapfry is essential so that these organizations can understand and map their territory of operation more easily.
Our platform guarantees a more strategic vision for entities like this to prepare their projects, because it is capable of bringing together all the sociodemographic characteristics of each region.
Age distribution, income, flow of people, types of businesses and the origin of young people are some examples of data present in Mapfry and that can be used for new movements.
Since 2023, Juventudes Potentes and Mapfry have teamed up to create projects with excellent results.
An example is the territorial assessment of the region where the Associação Obra do Berço is located, in Vila Andrade, in São Paulo.
Through the platform, Juventudes Potentes had access to valuable information about the region and, with these insights, designed projects involving local economic agents, such as companies and businesses.
The actions also include the participation of Fabio Inoue from Geoinsight, who articulates the data contributing to the construction of concrete paths for the future of a youth that, in recent years, has been increasingly hostage to the streets of São Paulo.
According to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Brazil is the second country with the highest proportion of young people who do not study or work (36%), second only to South Africa.
In São Paulo alone, the city government revealed that there are more than 3.7 thousand socially vulnerable children and adolescents in the city, an increase of approximately 105.56% between 2017 and 2022.
For this reason, Nilton Clécio, territory coordinator of Juventudes Potentes, also expresses its satisfaction at having access to Mapfry research to study the reversion of these statistics.
This partnership allows us to create strategies that are consistent with the demands of each population, whether in just one neighborhood or in an entire city.
This year, the goal with Mapfry is to identify new communities with vulnerable young people and direct our efforts more efficiently, seeking resources that can positively impact their lives.
