How it all began
Mapfry is the result of the union of veterans from the world of Geomarketing, who chose to build a platform that would reach people.
Hence the motto:
Geomarketing for everyone
In July 2020, we published this video manifesto:
Also in 2020, we launched the New Geomarketing course in partnership with ESPM.
In addition to updating the concepts in relation to the new moment, this would be the first edition of a course using the platform in the classroom.
At that time, the platform had another, much more conventional approach.
In the midst of the pandemic, we were faced with the project Epicenter, a revealing map of the immense risk to which we were exposed, and for this reason, so powerful in their communication capacity.
This map inspired us longer than its original message, it was clear that maps had a communication role yet to be explored.
We were already discussing the limits of the conventional approach, which refers to the MapInfo and ArgGIS systems, and evaluating ways in which we could tune Geomarketing to the new times.
Epicentro gave us a good clue as to where we wanted to go.
We went back to the drawing boards, followed the Process of Discovery and validation with analysts, until, in October 2021, almost a year later, we relaunched the platform in its current version:
